UPLIFT: Foundations of Trauma-Informed Care
Trauma can negatively impact physical, mental, emotional, and behavioral development, and can have lasting effects on health and well-being well into adulthood. A trauma-informed approach can help school mental health professionals and other school staff to thoughtfully look at strategies to identify areas that may be perpetuating trauma responses in students, staff, and families. UPLIFT training teaches participants about the ways trauma impacts neurological development, relationships and learning; the types of trauma; and the key components of a trauma informed approach in schools.
