Practical Strategies for Identifying and Treating Eating Disorders
This training provides a comprehensive overview of eating disorder development from a biopsychosocial perspective, covers how to effectively screen for and diagnose eating disorders, and provides pragmatic strategies for treating eating disorder using evidence-based treatment modalities with real-world intervention ideas and examples. Special attention will be given to understanding the impact of prejudice and implicit bias on diagnosis and treatment inequality among marginalized populations as well as ethical considerations around coercive vs. empowered care decisions.
