Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery in which victims are controlled, manipulated, and exploited. Traffickers use force, fraud, and coercion to dominate their victims, who can be children or adults of any age, ethnic background, or socioeconomic status. This workshop will focus on defining human trafficking, recognizing its signs, understanding its consequences, and providing support and guidance to survivors. Participants will also learn effective therapeutic techniques that promote healing and recovery, with an emphasis on current treatment modalities, psychoeducation, skill-building, and practical case studies. These strategies will equip providers to implement client-centered interventions when working with individuals affected by human trafficking.
