I provide Clinical Supervision only.
As a therapist, I enjoy working with clients 8 and older, and I have extensive experience working with teens and adult women. I believe therapy should be collaborative and I appreciate when clients are open and willing to try new strategies outside of session. I use a prescriptive approach, finding the mode of treatment that will work best for each client. Clients can expect to be treated with compassion and respect, and to be fully informed of the treatment process. As a supervisor, I operate by the same beliefs. I expect supervisees to be an engaged and active participant, willing to to reflect and grow through their work.
I'm Nationally Certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD (CPT). I am experienced in working with those who have experienced trauma, anxiety, transitional issues, and Perinatal Mood Disorders. I have a deep understanding of how early adversity impacts wellness across the lifespan.
I started supervising MSW interns just 2 years after receiving my MSW. During my time at a Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter Program, I clinically supervised Master’s level therapists, case managers and direct care staff. Upon leaving the program, I was hired contractually to continue supervision. In other roles in outpatient clinics and in other shelter programs, I continuously supervised Master level interns. I provided contractual clinical supervision and support to clinical staff at a local agency that provides therapy services to children who have experienced sexual abuse for 3 years. This included making myself available to other contracted therapists in the community when they had a specific question regarding the treatment of child sexual abuse. I have supervised 3 limited license social workers as they worked toward full licensure. Additionally, I have provided clinical support to over 50 MSW students. Currently, I provide consultation and as needed support to clinicians in the community on topics related to trauma treatment.
