About
Tell us a little about your social work practice/services
Entering therapy is often a scary and uncertain experience. There can be fears about being hear, accepted, believed or even understood when sharing your life and struggles with another person. It can be even more complex when you are another mental health professional or the member of a group that has been marginalized in our community.
My sincere hope is that you find therapy and coming into the therapy space as helpful, hopeful and impactful. I have 20 years experience working in the community on issues of housing, social justice advocacy for members of the black/brown community and the queer community, experience in the substance abuse field and with people impacted by criminal histories and incarceration. I have training in EMDR, IFS, Polyvagal Theory, Mindfulness and use an eclectic mix of practices to meet the needs of my clients.

Additional Comments
I also provide supervision for new clinicians and teach at the undergraduate/graduate level to influence and help support new social workers entering the field. It is important that new social workers understand the complex needs and struggles of marginalized and oppressed groups as well as how systems can support and maintain oppression.
