Additional Comments/Notes
Train the therapist's capacity to listen with a "third ear", to sharpen the listening ear to organize themes in patient's shared material and understand the language of the patient to respond using their words to bring meaning to the session and allow the patient to know they are heard as clinical methodology and technique.. Emphasize the therapist's growth capturing meaning that emerges in the client's reporting of thoughts and feelings over the course of time in treatment to highlight themes in the treatment relationship and discourse.
Again, sharpen the listening ear to always be available to understand the patient's meaning through their use of words and phrases that capture their focus.
